# Captain's Modlist v18 → v19 — Change Summary

**One mod removed (crash/incompatibility fix).** No mods added, no other mod or
side changes.

## ➖ Removed
| Mod | Side | Why |
|-----|------|-----|
| **Carry On** (`carry-on`) | Both | It was crashing / conflicting with another mod in the pack. Removed to restore stability — no replacement. |

**Player impact:** you can no longer pick up and carry full chests, machines, or
mobs by hand. Move block contents the vanilla way (break/replace, or hoppers/
minecarts). Anything already placed in your world is unaffected — only the
pick-up-and-carry ability goes away on the next update; no per-world action
needed.

**Also in v19** — install-doc updates (these ship with the pack as `SETUP.md` /
`install.html`; no in-game change):

- **Recommended RAM raised to 10–12 GB** (was 6–8 GB). Added a "short on RAM?"
  tip: lower **Distant Horizons → Render Distance** (e.g. 128 → 64–96 chunks)
for noticeably less RAM/VRAM. Note DH's config ships with the pack, so an
update resets it — re-apply after updating.
- **New known-issue + fix: "Tag mismatch" pre-launch failures.** The biggest
mods (AmbientSounds 6, Biomes O' Plenty, Ars Nouveau, Bosses'Rise) failing to
download with `AEADBadTagException` is a bug in Prism's bundled Java, not your
  network. Fix: add `-XX:+UnlockDiagnosticVMOptions -XX:-UseGHASHIntrinsics`
before `-jar` in your pre-launch command (or switch to a newer JDK 21).
- **Clearer setup notes:** pick Minecraft **1.21.1**, *not* 1.21.10 (Prism lists
both); accept the **Analogue Audio FFmpeg** download prompt on first launch
(expected, needed for audio); and an optional **QA/LAN staging** pre-launch
command for testing a staged update before it goes live.
